This position will be located at
Thousand Hills State Park , 20431 State Highway 157, Kirksville, Missouri . This is a temporary, seasonal position. The work hours are flexible and negotiable, but not to exceed 1,000 hours total during the length of the employment.
Duration of Assignment: (Flexible time frame) April through October
You will be assisting the State Park staff with park maintenance and stewardship. There may be additional opportunities to learn about park operations and assist in interpretation programs.
- Provide the highest quality customer service to our park visitors
- Empty trash containers and clean and sanitize restrooms and shower houses
- Perform weed eating and mowing as needed throughout the park
- Clean and sanitize the Fish Cleaning Station
- Help with stewardship activities in selected park areas.
- Ability to learn and consistently/accurately identify invasives species in the field
- Must be able to read and follow herbicide label directions and keep accurate records
- Must have physical ability to work outdoors on uneven terrain in hot/humid conditions
- Must have valid driver’s license and pass a background check
- Other duties as assigned
