- Examine invoices and interagency billings for accuracy and required documentation including verification of receipt of goods and/or services and process for payment
- Communicate with staff regarding discrepancies on invoices and take appropriate action to correct any discrepancies.
- Fold and stuff check remittance information daily.
- Deliver checks to DESE Accounting.
- Operate standard office equipment such as calculator, copier, and word processor/personal computer.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from high school or the GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications: - Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of office methods and procedures.
- Ability to expedite a large volume of detailed work.
- Ability to make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to operate a personal computer, computer terminal, calculator, and copier.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Other qualifications and experience which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the above.
