Position DescriptionThe Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Clinical Department Clerkship. The Clerkship Coordinator ensures proper organization and monitoring of medical student activities, as well as ensuring compliance with LCME regulation. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Major/Essential Functions- Schedule 3rd and 4th year medical students within clinic and hospital setting schedules for Psychiatry and Family Medicine departments. Schedule and host orientation sessions with Medical Students.
- Communicate with medical students regarding their schedules , meetings, questions, and concerns.
- Assist supervisor with recruitment of faculty in the area and surrounding rural areas by performing clerical tasks. Locate and arrange housing for students on rural rotations.
- Assist with exam proctoring for medical students.
- Attend regular meetings within clinical departments, student affairs, and academic affairs.
- Will travel between campuses (Odessa Campus and Midland Campus) to work in both Psychiatry Office and Family Medicine office when needed as well as complete clerkship coordinator training and planning in Lubbock.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years related experience;
- OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal six (6) years.
