Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Information Officer in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, maintains positive relations between the public and the City, communications with the media, coordinates City events and supports multiple departments in public information activities and outreach, and performs related duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
We are seeking an exceptional speechwriter and copywriter who can transform complex ideas into compelling stories. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller with exemplary writing skills, capable of adapting to a variety of audiences, platforms and objectives. This individual will develop speeches and presentations for City leadership, executive communications, marketing copy and messaging that aligns with the City's brand.

Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity.

All candidates who wish to be considered for this position will need to be in Henderson, Nevada, and make themselves available to participate in the testing process at any time on any of the dates listed above.
