Essential Duties Summary Job Description:

Yuba College seeks a Part-time, non-tenured track, Intercollegiate Athletics Instructor to teach intercollegiate athletic classes. Yuba College is a member in good standing of the Bay Valley Conference ( BVC ) and the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A). The successful candidate will report to the Director of Kinesiology & Athletics/Athletics Director and will be responsible for all aspects of an intercollegiate athletic class.

Temporary, part-time faculty positions offer the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals. YCCD offers a wide range of opportunities in transfer, general education, career, and technical education programs. These part-time positions are on an as-needed basis, and applicants should live within commuting distance to Yuba/Sutter/Sacramento County.

Performance Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of part-time faculty are to teach classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. The faculty member will prepare and provide students with course outlines, materials, and lectures that support learning objectives set forth in the course syllabus; when requested, help develop, and measure learning outcomes as identified by the department; and assess student performance and maintain grade records.

Required Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

The successful candidate must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:

The professional experience required must be directly related to the sport of the faculty member’s teaching assignment.

In addition to the minimum qualifications, your experience should also reflect:

A. Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

B. Successful coaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably in the designated sport.

C. Successful recruiting experience at the collegiate level.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate may have one of the following desired qualifications:

3. Master’s degree or higher in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education from an accredited college or university; OR

4. Bachelor’s degree in any of the above (#3) AND a Master’s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy from an accredited college or university; OR

5. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR

6. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1or 2 OR 3 or 4 above.

Salary Range Steps 1: $1,586.89 - Step 10: $2,657.77 per unit. Benefits Information PART - TIME (less than .60 FTE ): Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
