Description
The Head Start Kitchen Aide is responsible for assisting with all daily operations in the kitchen including meal preparation and portioning, cooking and food preparation, delivery systems, food safety, and cleaning projects for Head Start meal services.

Description:- Assist in the production, cookery, preparation, and clean-up for all meal services by the direction of the Head Start Chef, Kitchen Manager, and/or Supervisor.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation practices during their kitchen and delivery tasks outlined by Head Start food safety procedures and by the Colorado Department of Public Health.
- Organize and deliver meals to the Jefferson County Head Start Arvada classrooms, and assist with offsite programming by supporting delivery driver duties.
- Participate in the portioning of daily foods as aligned by CACFP requirements and will remain aware of special diets needed per classroom by the direction of Chef and Supervisor.
- Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen and storage areas, including, but not limited to, catering van, dishes, equipment/tools, walk-ins, refrigeration, freezers, dry storage, and laundry.
- Stay up to date on all required trainings as directed by JCHS or Jefferson County. This includes responsibility to Workday tasks, email notifications, and requested attendance at any staff meetings whether departmental or organizational.
- Maintain smooth working conditions that value team success, communication, and collaboration to ensure children, staff, and families have exceptional experiences that align with child development and program standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required - must obtain Food Safety certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred - One year of experience working in a kitchen setting
Education:GED, High School Diploma
Experience:Work Experience: Minimum one year
